Thanks to the Greater Sydney Sports Facility Fund we will see upgrades to Thornleigh Squash Centre on Duffy Avenue, Thornleigh. The upgrades will improve access and as well as the facilities making it a premier location right on our doorstep.
On Monday June 23rd I joined the Prime Minister Scott Morrison and Premier Gladys Berejiklian in the first end-to-end drive through the NorthConnex Tunnel. This is going to be a gamechanger for Hornsby, taking 5,000 trucks a day off Pennant Hills Road. The $3 billion project started in 2015 and created 8,700 jobs. Once completed the twin 9km tunnels will see motorists bypass 21 traffic lights and save up to 15 minutes in travel time. Returning local streets to local communities.
Although ANZAC Day this year will be different our commitment to remembering those who served our nation remains the same.

Fire and Rescue NSW (FRNSW) is now better equipped to respond to emergencies and calls for assistance from the community following the rollout of a fleet of new next generation response vehicles.
As part of a $28 million aerial replacement program funded by the NSW Government, fire stations like Hornsby Fire Station will put to good use one of 13 new Bronto Skylift Ladder Platforms and the EGI Klubb Aerial Pumpers.
Hornsby seniors at risk of social isolation during the COVID-19 pandemic will be the focus of $600,000 in funding to keep our older community connected.
Member for Hornsby Matt Kean urged eligible organisations in Hornsby to apply for the grants ranging from $10,000 to $100,000.
“We want to fund innovative ideas in Hornsby to help seniors keep in touch by utilising phone calls, online platforms or other methods of communication,” said Mr Kean.
A suite of 21 fee-free TAFE NSW short courses are available online to assist anyone
across the State who wants to upskill during the COVID-19 pandemic.

workers looking to diversify their skills during these times.
