Israel calling for NSW's brightest startups

A career-igniting trip to the world’s innovation capital lies in wait for up to 10 exciting fintech and cyber security startups as part of a joint NSW Government/Austrade program. 

NSW Innovation Minister Matt Kean, and Federal Trade, Tourism and Investment Minister, Steven Ciobo announced submissions are open for the 2017 Tel Aviv Landing Pad mission. 

It includes participation in the biggest international industry event of the year, as well as:

 Meetings with mentors to address business or technical challenges;

Businesses urged to make safetly promise to build better workplaces

Businesses can now make a Safety Promise to help improve the health and safety of  their workers, Minister for Better Regulation Matt Kean announced today. 

The SafeWork NSW online tool is part of the NSW Government’s $3.2 million ‘Safety starts with you’ campaign that aims to help employers safeguard their workplaces. 

“Anyone with a job in this state has the right to a safe and healthy workplace, yet we saw more than 30,000 work-related injuries across the state last year,” Mr Kean said.

Most of the George St commuter car park will close for about eight months, with some replacement spaces offered for free at Westfield, but not on weekends or in December.

Hornsby state Liberal MP Matt Kean announced on Tuesday that Transport for NSW is working with Hornsby Council on a precinct plan for Hornsby station and the surrounding area.

An inquiry under the Charitable Fundraising Act will investigate the RSL's fundraising activities following allegations of financial misconduct, Minister Matt Kean announced today. 

The inquiry follows a number of questions about the expenditure of funds raised and held by RSL NSW, RSL LifeCare, and the RSL Welfare and Benevolent Institution (DefenceCare), each of which holds an authority to fundraise under the Charitable Fundraising Act.

The NSW government will step in and investigate the RSL's financial scandals, declaring itself "fed up" with the league's own efforts to investigate claims of possible fraud and cover-ups by some leaders.

Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Matt Kean, who is responsible for charities laws, said it was time "once and for all" to get to the bottom of the allegations.
