Farmers will now receive free quad bike training in a major boost to the safety improvement program aimed at significantly reducing the number of deaths on rural properties across NSW.
Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Matt Kean said farmers who complete an approved training course would also receive a free helmet – worth around $120 - suitable for use while they are riding their quad bikes. The changes announced today represent a further saving to farmers of up to $230.
Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Matt Kean was in Singleton to announce free quad bike driver training for farmers. As part of a safety improvement program the free training and helmet will aim to reduce the number of deaths on rural properties in NSW.

Matt has taken a tour of the upgraded Men's Shed at Hornsby. Thanks to an $18,000 grant from the NSW Community Building Partnerships scheme they have installed a ducted dust extraction system which provides a cleaner work environment.

Radio: Tougher penalties are being considered for Real Estate Agents who underquote on propeties. Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation says underquoting is illegal and can cost buyers thousands of dollars.
Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Matt Kean MP will be looking for industry feedback on the short-term holiday rental market. The Minister believes short-term letting if properly managed and respected by all parties can be a boost to the local economy but it also needs to protect the people's rights to the quiet enjoyment of their own home.
The $9 million conveyor system has been delivered to Hornsby Quarry with the first spoil delivery expected in May. Member for Hornsby Matt Kean MP visited the site to inspect the conveyor system and is pleased to see the project progressing.

The Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Matt Kean MP visits Holbrook and confirms they require special attention under the Loose-fill Asbestos Voluntary Purchase and Demolition Program. 33 Holbrook homes have tested positive and the Minister is looking at pooling funds to help assist those residents with relocation costs.
