The Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Matt Kean MP wants to make sure consumers come first. Department of Fair Trading will now be releasing statistics on the most complained about companies to protect consumers. You can check the Complaints Register on the Department of Fair Trading website to see who has made the list.

The Minister spoke to A Current Affair today.

The sporting equipment which was funded by a NSW Government Community Sports Grant includes Pop Up Goals, Bownet Goals, Agility Poles, Training and Match Balls. The equipment will be primarily used by youth teams from under 6 to the under 18s age groups.

Hornsby MP Matt Kean said he was thrilled to support Hornsby RSL Football Club with the $5000 sports grant contribution.

2017 Community Building Partnership

Member for Hornsby, Matt Kean MP encourages local councils and not-for-profit groups to apply for funding requests through the 2017 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.

CBP grants are available annually for community infrastructure projects that deliver positive social, environmental and recreational outcomes. Through the program, the NSW Government ensures funding is available to support organisations that think first-and-foremost about the needs of locals.

Online shoppers have their say in Fair Trading Survey

Almost 40 per cent of people who have bought goods or services online experienced problems with their purchase, according to a recent NSW Fair Trading survey. About half the issues related to goods being delivered late or damaged, or not arriving at all. Other common problems included faulty products; items being different to those advertised; and unexpected charges. Those who purchased from overseas also reported a lack of clarity about currency; high shipping costs; communication issues; and fraudulent use of their credit card.

NSW leads the way on Quad Bike safety

A new research project which aims to reduce the high rates of injury on farms has been announced by the NSW Government, to better understand attitudes and behaviours around quad bikes and their use.

The NSW Government will also work closely with the Federal Government to improve existing quad bike safety systems after a joint meeting with Senator the Hon Michaela Cash, in Canberra last week.

More than 115 people have been killed in quad bike accidents on Australian farms since 2011, with 32 in NSW.

Online shoppers have their say in Fair Trading survey

Almost 40 per cent of people who have bought goods or services online experienced problems with their purchase, according to a recent NSW Fair Trading survey.

Minister for Better Regulation Matt Kean said more than 1100 people participated in the online survey, with 39 per cent saying they’d had problems with a purchase made within Australia.
