Hornsby commuter carpark to close in July while authorities consider plans to build above railway line

Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation Matt Kean and Premier Gladys Berejiklian

Most of the George St commuter car park will close for about eight months, with some replacement spaces offered for free at Westfield, but not on weekends or in December.

Hornsby state Liberal MP Matt Kean announced on Tuesday that Transport for NSW is working with Hornsby Council on a precinct plan for Hornsby station and the surrounding area.

More than 300 parking spaces will be available at Westfield Hornsby for public transport customers free-of-charge during peak times from July 3, Mr Kean said. The park and ride area at Westfield will be free-of-charge, between 5am and 10pm, Monday to Friday.
