Tribute to Grey Wolf Award Recipient Alyssa Eden

11 April 2018

Mr MATT KEAN (Hornsby—Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation) (13:46): I am very excited today to congratulate an amazing Cub Scout, Alyssa Eden, on being awarded the prestigious Grey Wolf Award. The Grey Wolf Award is the highest award a Cub Scout can achieve. Cub Scouts must complete a number of tasks in order to receive the award, including leading a hike, organising inter-pack activities, participating in an overnight camp, and obtaining certain levels of badges. Alyssa ran a hike from the Sphinx Memorial to Bobbin Head on 23 December.

The 1st Hornsby Heights Wombat Pack was proud to award Alyssa Eden her Grey Wolf Award last week, the highest honour a cub can achieve.

Alyssa had to meet 3 number of requirements before receiving the award. This included leading a group on a two hour hike which she did late last year.

Member for Hornsby Matt Kean was impressed to hear Alyssa was hiking two days before Christmas.

"When most people are off celebrating Christmas. Alysss was leading a group on a hike from the Sphinx Memorial through to Bobbin Head," Mr Kean said

Daniel Hose, Queen's Scout Award

Mr MATT KEAN ( Hornsby ) ( 1 6:00 ): One day Bear Grylls will meet his match, but little does he know that that match will most likely be one of Hornsby's homegrown scouts, Daniel Hose. The Queen's Scout Award is the highest youth award achievable within the Scouting movement in the Commonwealth. Although to some people being awarded the Queen's Scout Award may seem easy, one actually has to be the crème de la crème to achieve such an incredible feat. Through his quiet determination Daniel has completed every task with the highest success.
