Apron auction to help shelter

PREMIER Gladys Berejiklian and Hornsby MP Matt Kean joined the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter recently for the launch of The 2017 Apron Project.

Throughout the month of October, more than 100 original aprons created by 60 local and international artists, including Ken Done, are up for auction as part of the annual event.

Without government assistance, the shelter’s board president Sallianne McClelland said the organisation struggled to raise the $450,000 needed each year to operate the facility.
