Blowfly Cricket 10th Anniversary

Blowfly Cricket 10th Anniversary

I begin by acknowledging the traditional custodians of the land on which we are gathered and pay my respects to their Elders, past and present.

As I was getting ready for this dinner, I started thinking back to 2009.

In some ways, it was a bad year for Australian cricket.

After all, we lost the Ashes.

But I know I speak for everyone here when I say that 2009 was a great year for Australian cricket, because 2009 is when BlowFly Cricket was founded.

Cricket is often said to be Australia’s national game.

CEDA Speech 7th June

Minister for Energy and Environment Matt Kean MP

I want to thank CEDA for hosting today’s event. CEDA does fantastic work and it is an absolute  pleasure to be here today.

I also want to congratulate the Morrison Government on its re-election. A returned Coalition Government is good news for the Australian people and the Australian economy. I intend to take a constructive, pragmatic approach in working with the Commonwealth Government. I have already met with Minister Taylor and I am looking forward to working constructively with him to address the challenges in the energy sector.

Considering the United Nations' recent report on biodiversity warns that as many as a million animal and plant species are threatened with extinction and the New South Wales Government's own State of the Environment report shows almost 1,000 native plant, animal and ecological communities are threatened with extinction in New South Wales, what action will the new Minister take to avert this biodiversity crisis?
