Hawkesbury River Station Upgrade Complete

Opening of Hawkesbury River Station Lifts

The new look Hawkesbury River Station (Brooklyn) was officially opened on February 15th with improved safety and accessibility for public transport customers.

Member for Hornsby Matt Kean was joined by Mayor of Hornsby Council Philip Ruddock for the official opening. The lift has been operational since 18th December, but work continued early into the new year to complete further the upgrades.

“It was a Christmas present for the people of Brooklyn to have the lifts operational before the end of the year.” Mr Kean said.

Member for Hornsby Matt Kean MP is pleased to announce plans for up an accessibility upgrade at Hawkesbury River Station will start by the end of this year after plans for the project were approved.

Surprise! Brooklyn and River residents will be happy to hear that Matt Kean MP, who has been petitioning the state government for an easy access lift to Hawkesbury River Station, has been successful.

Matt Kean campaigns for lift at Brooklyn station

Matt Kean MP is continuing his fight for a lift to be installed at Hawkesbury River Station this week by getting signatures from community members.

"I dropped in to Brooklyn legend Tom Richmond's house who was happy to put his support behind the petition," said Matt Kean.

"I am please to see the strong community support with over 420 signatures on my online petition," Matt Kean said.
