‘You’ve got to be more careful’: Android Enjoyed ordered not to mislead customers

Online electronic goods retailer Android Enjoyed and its parent company are now restrained from misleading customers, in a win for NSW consumers.

It comes after NSW Fair Trading began proceedings against the company and its sole director Yuen Ho Wong in September following hundreds of complaints from customers.

Better Regulation Minister Matt Kean said the injunction was "a great outcome for consumers".

CONSUMERS NOT ENJOYING ‘ANDROID ENJOYED’ AS TECH GIANT AGAIN TOPS COMPLAINTS REGISTER

It’s clear consumers are not enjoying online tech and gadget store Android Enjoyed as the business again takes out top spot on the NSW Fair Trading Complaints Register.

Minister for Better Regulation Matt Kean said the return appearance had prompted Fair Trading to re-issue a public warning against the retailer.

Android Enjoyed, owned by Digital Marketing and Solutions Pty Ltd, received 50 consumer complaints in March and 45 in February, while its other online retail store, Camera Sky, also received 28 complaints in March and 25 in February this year.

Sick in hospital, Debra Mesiti ordered a $743 tablet from Android Enjoyed on December 28. Four months later, she has no tablet, and has all but lost hope of getting her money back.

“This … business has really wound me up, just the moral implications of all of this,” she said.

Mrs Mesiti, from Sydenham in Melbourne, was undergoing cancer treatment when her old tablet broke. Her brother suggested using Android Enjoyed, as he had bought phones through its website with no issue.
