Tribute to Molly Street

15 February 2018

Mr MATT KEAN (Hornsby—Minister for Innovation and Better Regulation) (16:20): Today I make special mention of a remarkable nine-year-old from Berowra Heights, Molly Street. Molly was the highest fundraiser at the 2017 Hornsby Relay for Life, raising a whopping $3,000. She was among 450 other fundraisers who contributed to the overall $91,000 raised at the Hornsby campaign. I attended the Relay for Life, which is one of my favourite local events. All the money raised from this wonderful and fun event is donated back to the Cancer Council. Every dollar raised will help go towards defeating cancer, so it is a great cause. Molly made a video about why she thought it was so important to participate in the event. Her video garnered major community support and awareness. She then walked 126 laps with her team, the Berowra Girl Guides, a great organisation that is loved by the Speaker. Molly is an exceptional young lady who is making a real difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. Having achieved this goal at such a young age, I cannot wait to see what else Molly's future holds.
