New Den for Berowra Rover Crew

Story by Melissa Knudson Assistant Group Leader 1st Berowra Scout Group

1st Berowra Scout Group recently held the official opening of their new Rover Den with official red ribbon cutting by Matt Kean MP. Whilst renovations to the hall have taken place over the last few years with new roofing, new bathrooms and kitchen upgrades, it was decided to give the Crew a brand new den as part of the ongoing revitalisation of the hall as a way of thanking them for their continued active support of the Group and the younger sections within it.

Berowra Rover Crew, in its current era, has been in continual operation for almost 30 years, with the Crew reviving its registration in 1988 to provide Scouting opportunities for 18-25 year olds. Since that time the Crew has had a permanent home in the Berowra Scout Hall.

Thanks to Matt’s generous donation through the Community Grants Program, the den is now officially open and the Rovers have moved in.

1st Berowra Scout Group and 1st Berowra Rover Crew would like to thank Matt for his generosity in helping us pay for the den, and for everything he has done and will do, for Scouting in our local area.
