Shark Bay Bandicoots

01 August 2021

Today, we're proud to announce that for the first time in more than a century, Shark Bay bandicoots are back in the wild in NSW.

Over the past couple of months, we've reintroduced this endangered species back into Sturt National Park, within one of two huge feral-free areas where there little guys now call home.

These fenced off feral-free havens are the first step in reintroducing endangered species back into the wild.

Over time, we hope to have over 600 of these little guys roaming around Sturt.

It's a great first step in turning back the tides of extinctions in NSW, take a look.
