Chid Genius Australia is the first ever competition of this style in the country.
Host and Quizmaster Dr Susan Carland will be testing and quizzing 19 kids from all over Australia to determine the 'brightest of the bright'.
Adam Fowler (13) will be competing to be crowned Child Genius in the new SBS show which went to air last week.
Member for Hornsby Matt Kean MP met with Adam who attends Normanhurst Boys High School to wish him luck for the show
"Adam has an absolutely brilliant mind and I can't wait to see him take on the rest of Australian on Child Genius," Mr Kean said Adam, who is a member of Mensa, beat out hundreds of candidates to make the top 19.
"Adam is extremely self-motivated and I have no doubt he wilt succeed in anything he puts his mind to." Mr Kean said.
Adam who is an active member for the Berowra 1st Scouts and hopes to one day become an astronaut or work at the Australian Space Agency.
Child Genius can be seen on SBS Monday to Wednesday night at 7.30pm
