Youth Forum

The State Member for Hornsby, Matt Kean MP, today opened the Youth Forum that he organised in partnership with the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Youth Network, the Black Dog Institute, the Rotary Club of Wahroonga, and Rising Generations.

The Forum, which is a National Youth Week event, was hosted by Abbotsleigh School and was attended by 200 young people from high schools on the Upper North Shore. The Minister responsible for Youth Affairs, the Hon. Victor Dominello MP, was also in attendance.

'The Forum provided young people with the opportunity to voice their concerns and opinions on important youth issues, through open discussion and engaging activity sessions', Mr Kean said.

'This is just a first step in improving the wellbeing of young people. As a result of the Forum, I will be forming a Youth Advisory Committee that will further enable young people to express their concerns on key youth issues'.

'I have long been committed to addressing youth issues and believe that Forums are a first step in achieving positive outcomes for young people'.
