Time to get out in the Plein Air! 2013 NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize Now Open for Entries

State Member for Hornsby, Matt Kean MP, is calling on all plein air painters in the local community to apply for the 2013 NSW Parliament Plein Air Painting Prize.

An annual acquisitive prize of $20,000, it is awarded to the best plein air painting of a New South Wales subject.

"Everyone from professional to emerging artists will have the opportunity to compete for the coveted Prize, and for the chance to be included in an exhibition of finalists at Parliament House throughout May – a unique opportunity to share your artistic visions with the general public, members of the arts community and members of parliament", Mr Kean said.

"The Hornsby area is such a beautiful part of the State, and I would really encourage anyone with an interest in plein air painting to get out there and enter the Prize".

Artists are invited to enter up to two paintings done en plein air, of a New South Wales subject and painted at anytime. The aim of the Prize is to celebrate not only the great tradition of plein air painting, but also the many unique landscapes that make up this great State.

Entries will be accepted from 9am Monday 11 – 9am Monday 25 March 2013, via electronic submission. For more information, including important dates, conditions of entry and the entry form please visit www.pleinair.com.au
