Sydney Water mains break

Member for Hornsby Matt Kean was quick to respond after residents were affected by the water main break on the Pacific Highway in Asquith on Saturday February 24th.

Sydney Water crews worked throughout the day and overnight to carry out repairs to the water main as quickly as possible. Work was completed in the early morning of Sunday February 25th.

“The broken water main located on the Pacific Highway was a large one, which meant many homes were without water,” Mr Kean said. S

Sydney Water rezoned the supply in the area to minimise the number of properties impacted. However, during the work, some residents in the Berowra and Mount Kuringgai areas were without water or may have experienced lower than normal water pressure.

Mr Kean understands residents were frustrated by the outage.

“I have spoken to Sydney Water to ensure measures are in place to better handle a similar situation should they occur,” Mr Kean said.

Sydney Water would like to sincerely thank these customers for their patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.
