NSW gift card reforms passed

Gift cards sold in NSW will soon be valid for at least three years under new laws passed in state parliament.

The fair trading amendment was passed on Wednesday afternoon with the support of the opposition.

Better Regulation minister Matt Kean said the reforms, understood to be implemented by next year, would put $60 million back in the pockets of NSW shoppers.
