Give us a lift mate!

Give us a lift mate!

"Enough is enough and something must be done" say the people of Brooklyn and beyond. Matt Kean MP has answered their call and will be campaigning for a lift to be built at Hawkesbury River Station. \

It is going to be hard work but I am determined to get a better outcome for the community who live in Brooklyn.

Already I have spoken to a grandmother who carries her 1 year old granddaughter in the pram the 90 plus steps to catch the train. I have spoken to residents who are forced to drive to Berowra just to catch a train. I have spoken to Justin, owner of the Riverboat Postman who has to advise customers to drive to Brooklyn to avoid the station.

Some History....the problems with the stairs started back in 1992 when the original stairs, nicknamed Mt Everest were built and then re-built when it was discovered they were unsafe. Then in 2010 we saw them re-built again. The mistakes end here. Hawkesbury River Station needs a lift so the entire of the Brooklyn community can take advantage of the train.

SIGN THE PETITION.....I have started a petition and I will be knocking on doors, talking to people at the railway station but I need your help. To make an impact I need as many signatures as possible. So if you see me out, please come and say hellp and sign my petition.

I will also be taking the issue directly to the Premier, Gladys Berejiklian and Transport Minister Andrew Constance.

Brooklyn is a popular tourist location and it should not be disadvantaged because of an inability for people to get off the train station. I will be working hard but I need your support.
