A new memorial wall was unveiled last week at Berowra RSL cenotaph by Berowra Federal MP Philip Ruddock and Hornsby State MP Matt Kean.

Mr Ruddock and Mr Kean joined members of the Berowra RSL Sub Branch to inspect the new sandstone wall which was constructed as part of the Federal government's Anzac Centenary Local Grants Program.

The new $17,000 memorial wall will feature a bronze plaque and has been inscribed with phrase "Their name liveth for evermore."  The memorial wall will be used for the first time at this year's historic 100th Anzac Day anniversary.

Additional state funding of $4000 was also allocated to the existing cenotaph to install electrical wiring for lights at the site.

Berowra RSL Sub Branch President Bob Dobson said he was very appreciative of the support from both the Federal and State governments.

"The community of Berowra has a long and proud history of service within Australia's Defence Forces," Mr Dobson said.

"This memorial is the Sub Branch's contribution to remembering all those who have served, particularly in this year of 2015 we remember those who served and made the sacrifice at Gallipoli."

"Our Sub Branch members are thrilled to have upgrades at the cenotaph to mark the 100th year anniversary."

Mr Ruddock said he was very pleased to be able to provide the Federal funding to commemorate the sacrifice of our ANZAC soldiers.

"I would like to thank Bob Dobson and other members of the Sub-Branch executive who worked to secure funding for the project and their efforts in designing and implementing what is a fitting tribute," Mr Ruddock said.

Mr Kean also paid tribute to our ANZAC soldiers saying the memorial wall is a reminder of the Berowra's community's service for our country.

"Our community is forever indebted to the service and sacrifice our troops made to protect our freedoms we enjoy today," Mr Kean said.
