HORNSBY Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter is the kind of place that could not function without its dedicated group of volunteers who live and breath the concept behind Do Something Day, Last week for Do Something Day they decided to get together and train for their up-coming major fundraising event - the City2Surf. Women’s Shelter president Sallianne McClelland said they raised $23,000 last year and were pleased to have people like Hornsby state Liberal MP Matt Kean on board. “We’d love to raise even more this year so we can fund more beds in the future.” The Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Women’s Shelter is community funded and run – without any direct government assistance.
