Legacy Week

Member for Hornsby Matt Kean MP has encouraged local residents to support Legacy and buy a badge on Friday, September 2 as part of Legacy Week celebrations which run from Sunday 28 August to Saturday 3 September.

"Legacy is a dedicated charity that cares for the families of deceased Veterans in Australia," Mr Kean MP said.

"They currently assist more than 100,000 widows and 1,900 children and dependants with a disability Australia wide.

"Funds raised this year will contribute towards counselling, special housing, medical, advocacy, social support and children's education for the Veterans' families.

"This Friday local residents can show their support for Legacy by purchasing a Legacy badge, pen or wristband or simply providing a donation," Mr Kean MP said.

"I urge everyone to support Legacy and wear their badge or wristband with pride.

"It is important to recognise our local veterans and their families. A small gesture to Legacy will show support for the brave servicemen and women who put their lives on the line defending our country," Mr Kean MP said.

Volunteers will be located at Hornsby Station and throughout the shire on Friday 2 September.
