Minsiter Kean pays tribute to Hornsby JP Eric Willcock

12 October 2017

Today I specially thank an exceptional man, Eric Willcock, who has given 14 years of outstanding service to Hornsby Library as a justice of the peace [JP].

Every Tuesday Eric would volunteer his time to authenticate documents for residents of the local community. He was a dedicated volunteer, often staying longer hours to assist if another JP was unable to attend a session. Eric has been a JP for more than 50 years and has helped so many people with his kind and supportive service, establishing himself as a friendly face in the local community.

In September Eric decided to retire, and I thank him for the invaluable role he has played in our community. Our community has been built on the back of volunteers like Mr Willcock.

People like him have made the Hornsby shire so special. I thank him for his service and the work he has done to make Hornsby one of the best places in Australia.
