Recognising 40 Years Of Service To The Community

State Member for Hornsby, Matt Kean MP, today joined the CEO/Superintendent of Wesley Mission, the Rev Dr Keith Garner and hundreds of Wesley Mission staff, supporters as well as current and former guests to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Wesley Vision Valley.

Wesley Vision Valley is a major conference and recreation facility in Arcadia in Sydney's north-west.

Since its founding in 1972, the site has provided tens of thousands of Australians, both young and older, with wonderful life learning experiences.

Wesley Vision Valley consists of a 224-bed facility which has won numerous tourism awards, and has also been the venue that has provided thousands of young people with opportunities to grow and learn through the centre's Operation Hope program.

Through the Operation Hope program Wesley Vision Valley aims to break the cycle of hopelessness and steer young people, between the ages of 10 and 16 years, towards a life of purpose.

The day, which ran from 10am until and 3pm, included the cutting of a cake and the launch of the centre's new Dual Flying Fox facility.

'Since 1972, Wesley Mission has committed itself to transforming both lives and communities', Mr Kean said.

'Countless young and older people have benefited from Wesley Vision Valley's activities and programs and our society is stronger and more prosperous as a result'.
