Tribute to Susan Latimore

Today I take the time to recognise a local constituent of mine, Susanne Latimore, for her efforts in raising money for the Redkite Foundation. The Redkite Foundation provides financial and support services to children who are fighting cancer and their families. Susanne's connection to Redkite is personal. Her son, Manning, was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10. During his battle Redkite supported Manning and Susanne through their darkest hours and in moments of need. Thankfully, young Manning won his battle with cancer. It was fantastic news for the Latimore family which has now pledged to help others suffering from cancer in our community. Susanne, along with her sister, Belle, have decided to start a fundraising initiative by creating a cycling challenge from Berowra to Foster. The 300 kilometre cycling event aims to raise money to fight cancer and provide an event where family members of those suffering from the disease can come together for support and share their experiences. So far 18 people are taking part in the inaugural challenge. I am publicly committing to participating in the challenge this year. I thank Susanne not only for her hard work but also for her resilience and dedication to help those in our community in need.
