New Carpark Opens at Asquith

Commuters at Asquith in will benefit from a new 21-space car park opening today, State Member for Hornsby Matt Kean said.

Mr Kean said he was pleased the car park was now open for local customers.

"The new facility includes 21 free parking spaces including one accessible space," Mr Kean said.

"The new car park will also free up on street parking at Haldane Street opposite Asquith Station.

"The NSW Government is working hard to make public transport a more viable option for local residents, and I thank residents and customers for their patience while the Asquith car park was being constructed," Mr Kean said.

The car park is in addition to nine commuter car parks announced by the Government earlier this year.

"This Government has allocated $770 million over four years as part the Transport Access Program to provide modern and accessible transport infrastructure, including new car parks and interchanges," Matt Kean said.

"In April the NSW Government announced that the program would deliver approximately 1200 new commuter car spaces at nine new commuter car parks across the CityRail network."

Transport for NSW is continuing planning and design work across the state to determine what crucial improvement projects will come next as part of the Transport Access Program.
