'One less problem': Domestic violence victims protected by rental law

Rental reforms allowing victims of domestic violence to immediately break their lease have been welcomed as "one less problem" for women looking to escape violent homes.

The reforms, part of a broader package of rental reforms passed by the NSW government in October last year, will come into effect on February 28.

"This is all about protecting victims. That means victims can quickly escape violent homes without worrying about extra penalties or repercussions," Better Regulation Minister Matt Kean said.
