How the State budget will affect Hornsby electorate

 HOW THESTATE BUDGET WILL AFFECT THE HORNSBY ELECTORAT

Homsby is a big winner in this year's State Budget with record levelsof investment in ourcommunity. Millions are being poured into ourlocalroads, schools, public transport and Homsby Hospital.

Some of the highlights of this year's budget include:

• NorthCortnex $48.5 million to continue the work on the NorthConnex project Thiswillbeagamechangerforourentiredistrict,taking5,000 trucks off Pennant Hills road and wilt make your journey home quicker and safer

• Homsby Hospital $85 million has been committed this year fortheconstruction of the Stage Tworedevelopment of Homsby Hospital, which will begin in a matter of weeks. An additional $15 million will be investedin the continued construction of the multi-storey carpark providingadditional 500 spaces

• Lift Upgrades to Hawkesbury River Station For20 years the peopleof Brooklyn have been calling for better access to their station. I amproud to have delivered this improvement which will mean no matter your age or ability you will be able to access Hawkesbury River Station

• Bigwinforfamilies Thisyearparents havebeenabletoclaim$100 for the Active Kids Rebate, it was announced in addition parentscan claim the Creative Kids Rebate of $100 per school aged child whichcanbe put towards music lessons, language classes or digital learning. Thismeans a family with 2 kids will be $400 a year better off

• Funding for Preschoolers Families will save $825 a year on average, as NSW becomes the first State in Australia to provide Government subsidies to alt three year olds to attend community preschool

• Targeting black spots Upgrades wilt be to George Street. Homsby aswell as pedestrian fencing to be constructed at the traffic lights at Georgeand Burden Street

• ProgramsforSeniors We willcontinuetofundtheTechSavySeniors program which is run out of Homsby Shire Library. There will also be an expansion of the Seniors Card program which helps drive down thecost of living for Seniors
