Hornsby's Avanti goes solar

The Avanti apartment building in Burdett Street Hornsby recently had191 solar panels installed on the roof which will cut their energy bills by thousands of dollars every year.

"The solar panels will produce enough power to be used across the common areas on Ihe 13 floor building," said Member for Hornsby Matt Kean.

Increased demand for commercial and residential solar demonstrates that more people want modem, efficient technology that delivers reliable, affordable and cleaner energy according to EnergyAustralia Head of Partnerships - NextGen, Usman Pervaiz.

"Batteries, sola/ and energy-efficient technology are presenting customers with the option to become less reliant on the grid," he said.

In the past three years EnergyAustralia has commissioned around 5 megawatts of commercial solar photovoltaic systems, the equivalent of powering around 570 households per year.
