Flashing lights installed at Normanhurst West Public

Flashing Lights for Normanhurst West

Safety will be improved around Normanhurst West Public School following the installation of flashing lights.

Normanhurst West Public School Mum Kaija Ross wrote to Member for Hornsby Matt Kean MP to request the school receive the flashing lights after she was concerned for the safety of her three children as they walked to school.

"When we walked to schoo! it was obvious cars were missing the 40 zone and something more visible needed to be in place" Mrs Ross said.

"I am pleased to have been able to deliver these safety measures to ensure our kids are safe when they walk to and from school," Mr Kean said.

Member for Hornsby Matt Kean MP visited the school to check out the lights which are now operating along Sefton Road and Milson Parade.

The current school zone for the school includes Dartford Road, west along Sefton Road to Lymoore Avenue and east along Milson Parade to Harris Road.

The 40km/h school zone speed limit is legally enforceable and operates from 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 4pm on gazetted school days.
