‘Doors Open’ for new lift plan: Thornleigh & Normanhurst Stations

Thornleigh and Normanhurst Stations to get lifts!

Planning is underway to improve accessibility at Thornleigh and Normanhurst stations. Member for Hornsby Matt Kean MP said,

“The upgrades to Thornleigh and Normanhurst stations will provide a station precinct that is accessible to those with a disability, limited mobility, parents and carers with prams and customers with luggage.”

Preliminary investigations will help identify what work will be required to make both stations fully accessible, with survey and site investigations having taken place in late October.

HAVE YOUR SAY The community will have a chance to have their say on the planning documents, which will be placed on public display early 2021. Subject to planning approval, construction is expected to start in mid 2021 and be completed in 2023.

The NSW Government has committed more than $2 billion in the Transport Access Program since 2011, with more than 470 projects either completed or currently underway across NSW.
