Safest NSW Workplaces Awarded

SAFEST NSW WORKPLACES AWARDED

Riding for the Disabled, the University of Sydney and a number of innovative construction businesses are just some of the workplaces recognised as the safest in NSW for 2018.

Minister for Better Regulation Matt Kean congratulated the winners of the 2018 SafeWork Awards, which are setting the benchmark for providing safe workplaces around the State.

“Every worker has the right to a safe and healthy workplace, regardless of their industry, occupation or background,” Mr Kean said.

“The SafeWork Awards acknowledge the hard work of employees and businesses who are setting the health and safety standards that others can follow.”

Eight winners in six categories were recognised at an awards ceremony in Sydney overnight, marking the culmination of the NSW Government’s Safe Work Month activities.

The SafeWork NSW Awards recognise business and workers with the highest standards of workplace health and safety and return to work outcomes in the State.

“Winners include businesses and individuals from a range of industries who are demonstrating how innovation and forward thinking can contribute to improved safety and injury management,” Mr Kean said.

“I commend the winners of the 2018 SafeWork NSW Awards. They are setting the standard in work health and safety and return to work that all of us can aspire to.”
