Hornsby Gains from Service NSW Expansion

Hornsby MP Matt Kean joined NSW Minister for Finance and Services Dominic Perrottet to announce a new Service NSW one stop shops will be built in Hornsby.

Minister Perrottet said the new centres were changing the face of customer service in NSW.

"Service NSW has made it easier, faster and more convenient for our residents to access government services," Minister Perrottet said.

"Instead of visiting or calling multiple agencies, you can now access over 800 different transactions in one location."

"Our customers have given us a 98% satisfaction rate and I'm keen to expand this winning formula on the Central Coast.

Hornsby Liberal MP Matt Kean said the new centre would be a boost for residents and local businesses.

"The new one-stop shops for this area will make it much easier for local residents and businesses to access and use government services," he said.

"They can spend less time on paperwork, waiting in queues or on the phone and more time running their businesses or with their family."

"I know the local community here will embrace this centre just as others have around the state, especially as so many of them have gotten actively involved in community events and charities."

Minister Perrottet said it was the staff who were behind the success of Service NSW.

"Service NSW has delivered a step change in customer service delivery in NSW since its launch," said Minister Perrottet.

So far the current Service NSW centres have served more than 11.5 million customers through its 26 one stop shops, 24/7 phone service, online channel and mobile app.

"At the end of the day, it's the staff that make it all happen and I have no doubt the warmth and passion for service of those who live and work in Hornsby will quickly become evident."

The new centre is part of a planned expansion of the Service NSW network over the next 18 months. A specific location for the new site will be determined after a detailed feasibility study is conducted.

Service NSW offers customers access to more than 800 government transactions including driver licences, vehicle registrations, Seniors Card applications, owner builder permits, housing payments and more.
