1st Hornsby Heights Scout Group

Members of the 1st Hornsby Heights Scouts group came together on Friday night at their clubhouse to honour four cub scouts with Grey Wolf Awards.

The Grey Wolf Award is the highest Award in the Cub Section and equivalent in comparison to the Queen's Scout Award for Venturer Scouts.

Hornsby State Liberal MP Matt Kean was asked to present prestigious awards to LaShay, Monique, Cameron and Jarod who each demonstrated leadership qualities to attain their award.

"LaShay, Monique, Cameron and Jarod have all worked extremely hard and learnt some valuable leadership skills which will stay with them for the rest of their lives," Mr Kean said.

"It's great to see these four clubs and the 1st Hornsby Heights Scout group giving back so much to their local community."

Before receiving their awards, each Cub participated in ANZAC ceremonies, State Cuboree, District Gala Day's and Pack Camps. They have been appointed as Sixers within the Pack, looking after younger Cubs and learning Leadership skills.

The Cubs achieved this whilst also working on individual challenges in areas such as health, safety and first aid, bushcraft and scouting knowledge, citizenship, fitness and creativity.
