Judy Hopwood Receives Hornsby Local Woman of the Year Award

State Member for Hornsby, Matt Kean MP and Minister for Women, the Hon. Pru Goward MP, today presented Hornsby Shire resident Judy Hopwood with the Hornsby Local Woman of the Year Award.

Judy was recognised for her work as Chair of the Homelessness Taskforce, where she has helped develop a local plan to address homelessness in the Hornsby Shire community.

The NSW Government's Women of the Year Awards enable society to recognise the outstanding contributions made by women in NSW.

More than 200 nominations for the Awards were received from across rural and metropolitan NSW.

'Judy's commitment to addressing homelessness in the local community is fantastic and I am honoured to present her with this award', Mr Kean said.

'Judy's work as Chair of the Homelessness Taskforce has benefited the lives of some of the most vulnerable people in the Hornsby Shire and her efforts positively contribute to the character of the region'.
