Community Building Partnership Program Applications Open

Applications for grants under the NSW Government's 2012 Community Building Partnership program opened today and will close Tuesday, 30 October 2012.

The program contributes funding towards the cost of building important community infrastructure to improve the delivery of community services.

Since the program was implemented three years ago, more than 4,375 grants have been offered to local community organisations and local councils, with over $125 million invested.

New South Wales Premier Barry O'Farrell believes that the program leads to improvements in social infrastructure and local communities.

'The Community Building Partnership program allows for community infrastructure to be built, refurbished or enhanced, making an important impact on the day to day lives of our local communities', Mr O'Farrell said.

'In many cases the funds will go to much needed social infrastructure with sporting,  youth, cultural and community clubs all benefitting from project funding'.

State Member for Hornsby, Matt Kean, reiterated the Premier's comments by arguing that the program has benefited a host of community groups in the Hornsby Electorate.

'Various community groups in the Hornsby Electorate have benefited from the Community Building Partnership program', Mr Kean said.

'I encourage local community groups in the Hornsby Electorate and Hornsby Shire Council to apply for grants under this program. These grants not only benefit those who are engaged with these groups, but the entire community'.
