Car park works begin this month as part of the Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital redevelopment project.
Landscape Solutions has been awarded the car park tender, which will create 90 car spaces on the hospital campus.
The car park will be located near the Intensive Care Unit.
These works have been brought forward to improve parking for staff, patients, visitors and the neighbouring community.
The car park will be ready for use in early 2013.
When finished the $120 million Stage 1 Redevelopment of Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital will provide:
· Eight operating theatres
· Three 28-bed in-patient surgical units
· Sterilising unit
· Supply and dock area.
State Member for Hornsby, Matt Kean MP reiterated the importance of this announcement.
'This is great news for residents', Mr Kean said.
'When complete, the car park will assist both patients and visitors. This announcement is also an indication that the hospital redevelopment is well underway and sticking to schedule'.
