About Matt

Matt is a local Hornsby resident having lived in the area his entire life.

Matt’s involvement in politics began at a young age. He studied a Bachelor of Business at the University of Technology, Sydney where he was actively involved in student politics.

In 2011, after working as a Chartered Accountant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, Matt was elected as the State Member for Hornsby.

After just four years as a Member of Parliament, Matt has been appointed as the Parliamentary Secretary to the Treasurer to work on the delivery of the NSW budget and the NSW privatisation energy lease deal.

Matt is a strong supporter of community organisations in our area. He is a member of Waitara Rotary, Hornsby Lions, the Hornsby Chamber of Commerce, and plays cricket for the Berowra Cricket Club.

He is patron of the Asquith Magpies Rugby League Club, Hornsby Heights Soccer Club, Hornsby Rockets bowling for Disabled Hornsby Kuring-gai Relay for Life, Hornsby Gang Show and Life Education Australia.

Matt is also an Ambassador for the Novus foundation and a passionate supporter of Studio Artes, which assists people living with a disability.
